Entrance 1 2 mi south of 1-496 Freeway; take Pennsylvania Avenue / Exit #7, go south to Zoo entrance on east side of road; $5.00 parking fee.
FYI:
Potter Park/Zoo is set along a naturalized and verdant expanse of the Red Cedar river. The zoo is a separate fenced enclosure in the park. Our picnic pavilion has an open patio with grills, covered deck, steps to a broad hillside of shaded lawn, and shelter from sun/wind/rain.

**$10.00 a person: pay on website or at picnic. Kids under 10 no charge. And bring a dish to pass!
$5.00 parking at the gate.
FOOD:
MHC provides: Hamburgers, hot-dogs, drinks, & desserts!
** Please bring a salad, side dish, fresh fruit or vegetable (picnic style) for the buffet - but NO desserts.
*Bring your own lawn chairs. Only picnic tables are available for seating.
FEATHERS, FUR, & FRIENDS - bring them all!
Birds should be tethered (perch/fist) at all times. Remember, a loose bird here is a few wingbeats away from a black rhinoceros. Dogs must be on a leash.
The upper level brick pavilion, Tiger Den Pavillion, is large - people and animals can shelter from bad weather, so we will picnic rain or shine.
FUN -Potter Park offers:
Lansing Riverwalk Trail - a 16+ mile paved hiking and biking trail through city parks and natural areas beside rivers, lakes, ponds, forested trails and open meadows.
Zoo-there are tigers, a rhinoceros, golden lion tamarind, etc., and camel rides and bungee jump. Separate entrance fees $4.00-$11.00.
