It's that time of the year again. Everyone is welcome to come out, but we can really use falconers with birds for both days. There are 2 different forms the park would like filled out and returned at least 1 week before the event. These can be turned in at the park, or emailed to Paul Cypher at Paul.Cypher@metroparks.com . Hawkfest is the celebration of the migration of raptors through Southern Michigan. Hawks, owls, eagles, falcons, and vultures migrate through Canada into the corner of Southeast Michigan via a natural "funnel". This funnel concentrates on migrating raptors directly over Lake Erie Metropark.

The MHC will have a booth at Hawkfest with many Michigans falconers and their birds there. This is a perfect opportunity to talk to Michigan falconers about the sport of falconry.

Bring your binoculars, and your bird book and be ready to have a great time!
