Range
  
    - Deserts and riverside woodlands 
 
    - Semi-arid regions 
 
    - Southern Texas westward to South Eastern California to Southern South America 
 
 
Diet
    - Rabbits, hares and other small to medium sized rodents 
 
    - Quail 
 
    - Lizards and snakes 
 
 
Voice
    - Low harsh scream 
 
    - "eee eee eee eee" when disturbed 
 
 
Nesting
    - Stick nest lined with grass in brush, cacti, or small trees 
 
    - 5-30 ft. above ground level 
 
    - Lay 2-4 dull white eggs that are faintly spotted brown 
 
    - Eggs incubate for 33-36 days and are tended by both parents
