MHC 2026 Winter Field Meet
The Michigan Hawking Club 2026 Winter Field Meet will be Saturday January 3rd, 2026.
The Meet Headquarters will be the DeWitt Charter Township Community Center in Lansing Michigan.
This family friendly gathering is the premier event in Michigan falconry and one not to be missed!
Public Welcome!
Registration includes
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Live, guided falconry hunts
Participation in the auction for falconry gear and other items
Falconry networking; get to know falconers in your area and hunt with them!
Hawking parties meet at first light and start making plans for the morning hunts. Numerous groups will be headed hawking throughout the morning hours. After lunch, groups will be headed out until late afternoon / dark. Hunting Groups will be coordinated and arranged by a club member, or by individual falconers.
There are only a few requirements we ask of you to attend:
Bring sturdy boots / footwear. We will be hunting in brushy/thorny conditions in forest territory
Appropriate outerwear and gloves. (heavy jeans, work gloves, eye protection, heavy coat)
Bonus points for bringing your own brush-beating stick!
No furry hats, and avoid bright colors please ;-)
MHC Auction
Falconry, as well as craft, outdoor, art, books and other items are accepted. This auction allows the club to continue with picnics, apprentice workshops, legislative actions, contributions to other conservation organizations, rehabbers and other voluntary events. Bring a fat wad of cash and haul out some premium swag. Mike Azzopardi will be heading up the auction again. He can be reached at mjhunter@att.net.

Be ready to have fun and be flexible due to weather conditions and hawk preferences. We do our best to ensure everyone has a great experience, but sometimes certain conditions are not ideal for falconry, despite our best efforts to present the sport as best we can.
